in the garden

Mike's gardens are exceptionally lush this year. We haven't started eating endless tomatoes and cucumbers and peppers yet, but they're coming. I love that he plants food plants and decorative plants next to each other all over the yard. The main food area is in the oasis, of course, but there's a jalapeno plant by the birdbath in the flower bed just outside the front door, and other little surprises like that. It's a lot of work for him, but it's work he loves, and it shows. Mike took all of these photos, by the way -- the last two are from his Father's Day hibiscus tree, which is blooming impressively already.
