summer splendor

The other day, I took a few pictures of the house in all its summertime glory. The garden and yard are Mike's domain, and he works really hard on them the whole season. I love when everything's in bloom like this, even if that does mean that it's hot outside (I'm not a big fan of hot weather). For this, I'll withstand the heat.

first day of school!

Hooray for the first day of school! I'm working in the cool, quiet house, with a dog snoozing on the office couch. It's a pretty great feeling.

Here they are, ready to head to their respective schools this morning (that's right, three separate schools!) for the first day of eighth grade, sixth grade, and second grade.
