Another eventful day. The boys all woke up early, and came downstairs sleepy and sweet, all in their footed PJs, and curled up together in the glider, and then they curled up together on the bed. It was a rare moment of brotherly harmony. I love Max's blank sleepy look and Liam's crossed legs in the first picture, and the way it looks like Henry is telling Max a funny secret in a couple of the other pictures.
Once we got up and dressed, the boys and I headed out to pick up my mom, and then we went to my dad and brother's fire station for their pancake breakfast. I have to say, it is by far the cheapest, easiest, and best Sunday breakfast we get (usually, we just pick a different area restaurant each week). Plus, the boys took advantage of their connections to get a behind-the-scenes tour, including a peek into the fire chief's office, so they were thrilled.
After breakfast, we went over to Hensler Nursery to check out the Fall Fest and get some pumpkins. As usual, they had the winners of their giant pumpkin contest on display.
It felt like a full day already, but there was still plenty to do. Our next stop was my grandpa's house, where the boys got to hang out with tons of great aunts, great uncles, second cousins, first cousins once removed -- all manner of extended family. We were there for a couple of hours, but when Max spilled red soda on Grandpa's carpet, we knew it was time to head home for a nap. And by the time Liam and Max woke up from their naps, Johnny and Erin were here for a visit. The boys enjoyed playing Wii golf and bowling with Johnny, and Henry loved all the attention from Erin. Then it was time to say goodbye, eat some supper, and get ready for bed (for the boys, at least -- I still had work to do, so my bedtime was much later). Another good, but very busy day!
